
As head of the Worldwide Marketing Research & Insights department for Paramount Pictures for over a decade, Hermelin is responsible for planning, researching and communicating the marketing strategy for each of Paramount’s theatrical releases, in addition to designing and implementing the research for each film from greenlight through theatrical release. Prior to joining Paramount, she was a marketing research and strategy consultant to Paramount in addition to each of the other major motion picture studios, as Managing Director of MarketCast, a full-service entertainment marketing research and strategy firm. She started her film career as a charter member in Sony Picture’s Management Training Program, and her film marketing career at New Line Cinema.
In addition to her position at Paramount, Hermelin is an adjunct instructor at New York University-LA, teaching Movie Marketing, and a member of the marketing branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and a member of its marketing executive committee.
She received an MBA from Yale University School of Management and a BFA from New York University Tisch School of Arts. Hermelin has worked on over 300 films in her career reflecting a full range of theatrical offerings and marketing challenges, from massive blockbusters such as Top Gun: Maverick, and the Transformers, Mission: Impossible and A Quiet Place franchises, to more niche series such as Scream, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Sonic the Hedgehog, to unique originals and Academy Award films such as The Big Short, Wolf of Wall Street, Selma and Arrival, in addition to many others.
