Through approximately 100 buyouts, corporate finance and merger transactions, Russ brings a broad perspective on private equity investing in both strong and weak economic periods. He believes in combining capital with talented management to develop companies and build shareholder value.

Before forming the Altus Capital and Max Capital funds*, Russ held executive positions at investment banks including Brean Murray Securities Inc.; Daiwa Securities America Inc.; and Prudential-Bache Capital Securities where he developed expertise in mergers and acquisitions.

Russ is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College with an honors degree in Economics and holds an MBA from The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.

As Managing Partner at Altus Capital Partners, Russ serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thermal Solutions Manufacturing, Inc., and Thomson Plastics, Inc.  Russ also serves on the Board of Nichols Portland, Inc and MAX Environmental Technologies, Inc.
