Alexis Shapiro is SVP and General Counsel at Forward Financing, where she oversees all legal, compliance and government affairs functions of the Company.

Prior to joining Forward Financing in April 2018, Alexis was a partner at the Boston-based law firm Goodwin Procter, where she advised companies & their officers and directors on complex business disputes and strategies for avoiding liability, with a particular emphasis in the financial services industry. Prior to Goodwin, Alexis was an attorney at Skadden Arps in New York City. Alexis is a board member of the Alternative Finance Bar Association (AFBA), an attorney-based organization that serves as a resource to its attorney members concerning current legal issues in the field of alternative finance.

Originally from New Jersey, Alexis graduated from Colgate University with a Bachelor of Arts, and from Boston College Law School with a Juris Doctorate. She currently resides in the Boston area with her family.
