Roy Weinstein

Roy Weinstein has been engaged in economic research and consulting since 1969. Areas of expertise include the valuation of patent rights and other forms of intellectual property, antitrust economics, standard setting, the calculation of economic damages, econometrics, statistical analysis, surveys and sampling, industrial organization, and accounting and cost allocation questions.

Industry experience includes semiconductors, telecommunications, medical products and devices, pharmaceuticals, and sports and entertainment. Mr. Weinstein has spoken before the National Association of Attorneys General, the American Bar Association Section on Litigation, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Midwest Economics Association, the Association of Business Trial Lawyers and the Los Angeles City Council. He also has participated in antitrust seminars at UCLA and delivered guest lectures at Peking University in Beijing, China, City University of New York and Pepperdine University. He was the former managing director of Micronomics. 

Mr. Weinstein's articles appear in les Nouvelles, the Journal of the Patent and Trademark Office Society, the Licensing Journal, the Journal of Law and Technology, the International Journal of the Economics of Business, the Antitrust Bulletin, and the California State Bar Journal. He also is co-author of the chapter on Antitrust that appeared in the Fifth Edition of the Litigation Services Handbook.

Mr. Weinstein has been recognized as an economic expert before U.S. District Courts, State Courts in various jurisdictions, the California Public Utilities Commission, the International Trade Commission, the Texas Commissioner of Insurance, and the Provincial Division, Ontario, Canada. He also has served as a court-appointed expert on surveys and sampling and has testified at arbitrations conducted by the American Arbitration Association and the Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Service. He also has consulted for the Office of Governor, State of California and Attorneys General for more than 20 states.

Mr. Weinstein received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree cum laude with honors in economics from City College New York and a Master of Arts degree in economics from the University of Chicago. He is the first recipient of the Career Achievement Award from the Business and Economics Alumni Society of City College New York. Mr. Weinstein is a Past President at University Synagogue in Los Angeles, CA and a member of the Los Angeles Council of Religious Leaders.
